Portland Anchor

The Portland Anchor is Louisville's Oldest Neighborhood Newspaper.  It is distributed for free at various locations around the Historic Portland Neighborhood and comes out once per month.  Content includes news and stories from the Portland Neighborhood, letters to the editor, obituaries, and upcoming community events.  Featured events from the Portland Anchor will be listed in the calendar above and on our blog page. 


Portland Branch - Louisville Free Public Library

Located at 3305 Northwestern Parkway, in the Historic Portland Neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky, the Portland Branch library serves patrons of all ages and offers a variety of library programs and services.  Visit our website and click on "Upcoming Programs" to view our upcoming events.  Regular programs include Preschool Storytime every Wednesday at 11:00 am, regularly scheduled Computer Classes and one-on-one help sessions for adults, and our Teen Art Smart Club which meets two Thursdays each month at 6:30 pm.  Please call us at (502) 574-1744 with your questions.  We look forward to seeing you at the library!


Family Health Center Portland

The Portland location of the Family Health Center is located at 2215 Portland Avenue in the Historic Portland Neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky.  Health Services Offered here include Primary Care, Pharmacy, Lab, Radiology, Dental Services, and Behavioral Health.  FHC also offers free and low-cost health classes that provide information, tools, and support to help patients improve health and prevent disease.  Please call us at (502) 774-8631 with questions.  

 


NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSE

Located at 201 North 25th Street in the Historic Portland Neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky, Neighborhood House is breaking the cycle of poverty for children and families.  Established in 1896, Neighborhood House was the first settlement house in Kentucky. PORTLAND MUSEUM

The Portland Museum is located at 2308 Portland Avenue in the Historic Portland Neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky.  Founded in 1978 by elementary school teachers, the Portland Museum grew from a single classroom to its present location in Beech Grove, an antebellum “country seat” on the old road between Portland and Louisville.  In a modern addition, the Portland Museum uses long-term and temporary exhibits to tell the story of Portland – a Louisville, Kentucky neighborhood that is rich with history and folk life.  Please call us at (502)776-7678 with your questions.
